1860:
The U.S. census recorded 2 dwellings in Windsor. The count in 1870 found
79. In July 1880, there were 109.
1869: On March 1, there were 21 buildings (houses and businesses).
Three months later, on June 7, 52 more had been built, bringing the
total to 73.
1882:
An ordinance passed required every able bodied male in the village,
between the ages of 21 and 50, to "labor on the streets and alleys" for
two days each year. The only ones exempt were "paupers, idiots, lunatics
and such who were exempt by law,"
1899: New
Windsor's first fire truck was purchased in for $700. In
2005, another truck was purchased for $190,000.
1869 till 1943: One family of doctors, the Rathbuns (father, son
and 2 grandsons), served New Windsor's medical needs.

rumored that in 1888 Alison
J. Streeter campaigned for President of the United States from the steps
of the Streeter House next to the fair grounds.
